Ben Folds Five Fraggle Rocks!

Ben Folds Five has come back from the dead, today releasing The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, their first new album of this millennium.  I have tremendous respect for Ben Folds, particularly his work judging NBC's a cappella reality contest show The Sing-Off.  If you had written Folds off as a pop relic of the 90s, pull up an old episode online and just watch the critiques by Folds; guy is smart as hell.  Then again I suppose it's easy to look smart alongside Nick Lachey and a Pussycat Doll.*

Anyway, Ben Folds Five has released the video for their first single, Do It Anyway.  Not only that, but they seem to have taken a cue from Weezer and OK Go, shooting a Muppet-y video with the lovable characters from the soon-to-be 30 year old Fraggle Rock!  As great as it is to see Gobo, Red, Mokey, Wembley, Boober and Uncle Travelling Matt (what, no Doozers?) my favorite part is probably the tag with Folds and his celebrity guests belting out the classic theme along with the actual Fraggles.  My inner nine year old is jealous beyond belief.





*No disrespect to fellow judge and former Boyz II Men member Shawn Stockman, who's not only smart, but also a snappy dresser.  And yeah, they replaced the Pussycat Doll with Sara Bareilles, who at least has some form of personality.
