Last week I ran a story about a recently discovered manuscript alleging that legendary gunslinger Butch Cassidy survived his infamous Bolivian shootout, assumed a new identity and lived to be an old man. Now we've got Blackthorn, a movie based on a similar premise, with Sam Shepard starring as Butch Cassidy!
I have to admit, I found the story of William Phillips to be infinitely more compelling than what's in this trailer, but it's hard to deny the appeal of bleak looking western starring Sam Shepard as one of the most famous outlaws in history. Blackthorn hits VOD on September 2nd and a handful of theaters on October 7th.
With Jamie "Kingslayer" Lannister too, apparently.
