Superman's Taking His Sweet Time

In an incredibly unsurprising move, Warners has pushed back the release of Zack Snyder's upcoming Man Of Steel from December 2012 to June 2013.  I say unsurprising because not only does Summer feel like a much more natural fit for Supes than smack in the middle of the awards eligibility rush, but the consensus seems to be that the script has been in pretty rough shape, specifically in the third act.  Jonathan Nolan took a crack at it and now Snyder has his long time collaborator Kurt Johnstad churning out a new draft.

Production hasn't officially been delayed yet, just the release date, but I have to believe that the later date is at least partially to give Snyder and friends time to actually nail down the script before rolling cameras.  Let's hope so at least.  The cast is certainly impressive and Zack Snyder is nothing if not a visually dynamic director, so it'd be a shame if the movie's achilles heel turned out to be a sub-par script.
