SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS Trailer Is Crazy Awesome

Martin McDonagh carved out a great reputation as a playwright with gems like The Lieutenant Of Inishmore and The Pillowman before bursting onto the Hollywood scene with the under-rated In Bruges, the hilarious tale of two troubled hitmen hiding out in Belgium after a horrific job.  (It really is quite funny, I promise.)  Colin Farrell earned himself a Golden Globe, so it's hardly surprising that he's back for McDonagh's follow-up, Seven Psychopaths.  Fortunately he's not alone, with Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Olga Kurylenko, Tom Waits (and a bunny!), Zeljko Ivanek and the always fantastic Kevin Corrigan in an epic story of dog-napping gone horribly wrong.

It sure is nice to see Colin Farrell in a flick where he doesn't have to be so damn serious all the time; the man can be wildly funny but it feels like we rarely get to see that side of him.  (Don't believe me?  Intermission is streaming on Netflix now available for delivery from Netflix.  You're welcome.)  And Sam Rockwell is someone who feels like he should be in every movie all the time.  Oh, and did I mention Tom Waits AND A BUNNY?!?

It's been four years since In Bruges, so here's hoping that folks really show up for McDonagh's latest.  Writers of his caliber are quite rare, and it's a real shame when they can't find an audience.
